We are honored to be able to make a positive difference in the lives of those around us through the work we do. Blood, sweat, and tears of laughter (because our team has fun) are poured into every project, every day. Dan Deyle

Owner - President

Dan Deyle bought the company in 2020 after 24 years of working for Michael Grimm Services. He majored in Arboriculture at Paul Smith’s College of the Adirondacks, graduating with an A.A.S. in Arboriculture in 1993. Dan started to learn the business from the bottom up, working for Monroe Tree Service until 1997. Dan hired on with Michael Grimm Services as a climber/foreman in the spring of 1997. Dan became an ISA Certified Arborist in 2000, and a Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional in 2004. In 2005, Dan took over the management of the Tree Department, where both customer service and customer satisfaction were his main goals. He enjoys spending time outdoors hunting and fishing with his wife and dogs and restoring vintage Snowmobiles.

Ron Rogers

Property Maintenance and Sales

Ron is a self proclaimed “Jack of all trades.” Ron holds a Bachelor’s in Resource Management from SUNY-ESF, is an ISA Certified Arborist, Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional and Certified Pesticide Applicator. He joined the Michael Grimm Services team in 1999 and has dabbled in several areas of the company. Ron enjoys snowmobiling and spending time with his wife and son.

Matt Vidler

Landscape and Christmas Decor Manager

Matt is a certified nursery and landscape professional (CNLP) and has Certifications in interlocking pavers (ICPI) and Segmental Walls (NCMA Level I &II). He has been working in the Landscaping installation industry for 15yrs. Matt enjoys working closely with homeowners to bring together his experience and knowledge with your goals and needs. Bringing both visions together leads to aesthetically pleasing and functional landscapes!!!

Chris Canaan

Landscape

Chris has been in the landscape industry for 28 years. He has spent the last 18 years with Michael Grimm Services. Chris spent three years mowing before taking over the Lawn Care Department. He has spent the last 15 years as a D.E.C Licenced Pesticide Applicator. He has a passion for green weed-free lawns. Chris enjoys Buffalo Bills FootBall and spending time with his wife and kids.

Jennifer Canaan

Sales and Service

Jennifer has been working in many branches of the landscape business for over 25 years.  Jennifer has worked at Michael Grimm for over 17 years, most of those years she was in charge of a mowing or general maintenance crew. Jennifer recently joined the sales department and is enjoying helping customers in a new way. Jennifer enjoys spending time with family, reading and camping with her husband.

Andrew Bachmann

Plant Health Care

Andy is a certified pesticide applicator who started at Michael Grimm Services in 2021 as a plant health care technician. Graduating from SUNY ESF in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in forest health. Joining the company after leaving the DEC environmental education camps where over the past ten years he’s held the positions of volunteer, counselor and director. Andy has always had a passion for the outdoors and truly enjoys talking with people who share that passion and getting to spread his knowledge and learn more about the environment. In his free time Andy enjoys restoring vintage motorcycles, and disc golfing with friends. 

Michael Grimm

Past President and Founder

Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in education from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. His love of gardening, plants, trees, and physical work led him into the landscape and tree care industry. Starting in 1978, Michael went into business for himself. Over the years he grew the company from a one-man operation to a full-service company employing 50+ people making up a team of landscapers, designers, arborists and plant health experts. Michael sold the company in 2020 to his long time friend and Tree Service Manager, Dan Deyle. Michael will continue to support the company as a consultant during this transition time.
